The Empty Tomb

Early on Sunday morning, the women went to the tomb... They found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. An angel told them: "He is not here. He has risen." Mary Magdalene ran to tell Peter and John. They came and saw the bandages [shroud] lying on the ground, but they did not see the Lord.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and she did not recognize him. She thought he was the gardener... Jesus called her by name: "Mary." She recognized him and shouted: "Rabboni" (Teacher). Jesus told her: "Go and announce to my brothers that I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."
