One day Jesus went from Nazareth of Galilee to the Jordan, where John was baptizing. John did not want to baptize him, saying: - I am the one who needs to be baptized by you, and do you come to me? Jesus said to him: - It is also written: You shall not put the Lord your God to the test. Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and said to Him: - All these things I will give you, if you fall down and worship me. Then Jesus said to him: - Begone, Satan, for it is written: You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve. Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and were ministering to Him.
