After Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in the time of King Herod, some Magi came from the East to Jerusalem saying: - Where is the King of the Jews who has been born? For we saw his star in the East and have come to worship him. When King Herod heard this, he was troubled. Herod asked the Priests and Scribes where the Messiah was to be born, and they answered: - In Bethlehem of Judea. Herod told the Magi: - Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, notify me, so that I too may go and worship him.
