There were shepherds nearby who lived in the fields and were keeping night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. The angel said to them: - Do not be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy, which will be for all the people: today, in the city of David, a Savior has been born to you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
