VIRTUES vs VALUES


Nowadays we talk about values, but it is a very unspecific meaning. There are stock market values, values of jewels, moral values. In the Department of Education, they speak of values of coexistence, social values... Which principles are the basis of these values? It is not known—or perhaps it is, they are known but not used much. It seems that values are beautiful ideas, dressed in sensitive words, but without being rooted in any principle.
Virtues are good acts in themselves that make the person who performs them good. Virtues are acquired through the repetition of acts. They remain rooted in moral principles proven for centuries and accepted as good. The famous Ten Commandments of the Law of God.
